President Biden’s insistence on running for re-election is a massive boost to the ominous prospects that Donald Trump will return to the White House. While the polling is dire, Biden continues to chip away at the Democratic Party’s electoral base with his unconscionable support for Israel’s ongoing mass killing of civilians in Gaza. At the same time, Biden’s significant diminishment of mental acuity has become all too apparent. More urgently than ever, we urge him to choose to be a one-term president and allow an open democratic process to select the party’s nominee for president.
